We're very proud of the small but mighty perfume corner in our shop, and this one by perfumer Irina Adam of Phoenix Botanicals is extra special. I first fell in love with it years ago at another local shop (hi, Flower Power!) because it reminded me of the smell of the linden trees blooming around the city in early summer. It's much more nuanced than I can accurately describe, so I'll leave it to Irina:
"A decadent exploration of the blooming Linden tree at night. A sensual, dreamy blend that is full of Summer's warmth. Transforms gorgeously on the skin- from the citrusy call-hither to the pollen-rich aroma beneath the branches, the dry, tannic leaves and wood, to the heady smell of the juicy, nectar filled blossoms. Settles into a lush, woody, glowing floral.
Inspired by gathering Linden flowers by moonlight. The late blooming trees with plumper flowers have a jasmine-y note that projects brightest at night. Lindens bloom around Summer Solstice. In European lore they are the 'tree of lovers' and associated with the Faeries."
Featured notes: Citrus accord, Linden, Ylang Ylang, Jasmine, Vetiver, Patchouli, Woods.
