This is the OG fruit roll-up! Yep, the Kellog’s one you grew up with is a rip-off of this one! In the 1960s, Lebanese-American Louis Shalhoub sought to make the popular Middle-Eastern treat amardeen into a single-size serving in the form of a fruit roll (instead of in large sheets, sold by the pound). Joray apricot-based fruit leathers have been a New York snack staple ever since and though they’ve spawned a million imitations, nothing is quite as good as the original. Bonus points: they’re kosher!
