Description
As the tradition goes, a pickle ornament is meant to be hidden in a Christmas tree for children to find, and the winner gets a special gift! Some say this is a German tradition, but the story we choose to believe is that it was a marketing gimmick of Woolworth’s, the NYC-based department store in an effort to offload unsold pickle ornaments.
These pickles were made for us by our friends at Antolini Glass Co. in Philadelphia. They’re dimensional and speckly and made of solid glass so they’re extra sturdy and kid-friendly.
Location: Philadelphia, PA
Measures: approx. 3” long, but varies from pickle to pickle
Comes as pictured, with a green satin ribbon
